Trust Committed To Reopening Minor Injuries Unit

The NHS trust that runs a Staffordshire Moorlands hospital says it is ‘committed’ to reopening the minor injuries unit at the site.

The Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) announced the ‘temporary closure’ of the minor injuries at Moorlands Hospital, Leek, in March – a move they said was in response to staff shortages due to the Covid-19 pandemic and ‘low levels of attendance from the local population’.

Next week representatives of the Trust are set to show a presentation informing Staffordshire Moorlands District Council that the unit will reopen ‘when it is safe to do so’.
