Remarkable Recovery After Collapsing From A Heart Attack

An 81-year-old woman is back on her feet after being rushed to hospital when she suffered a heart attack.

Nancy Perkin spent three days at the Royal Stoke’s critical care unit in August after she collapsed while making a cup of coffee for her husband of 61 years, Eddie.

But the medics were able to save her life and after her week-long stay on the wards, Nancy was able to return home to Portland Grange – a retirement living development in Leek – where she had to self-isolate due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Husband Eddie, aged 84, had feared the worst when he found Nancy collapsed, but now the pair, who are keen dancers, are looking ahead to the future – and the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
