Two Big Name Retailers Prepare To Shut North Staffordshire Branches

Two big name retailers are holding closing down sales across the county this week ahead of the closures of several North Staffordshire stores.

More than 50 stores are to be closed and 600 jobs axed by the company behind Peacocks and Edinburgh Woollen Mill (EWM) after the EWM group filed notice to appoint administrators.

In Staffordshire, EWM is set to shut stores in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Leek and the Affinity Outlet in Talke, whilst Peacocks has already closed their Hanley branch, with Newcastle set to follow suit soon.
