Post Office Opening Hours To Stay The Same During Lockdown
A post office in a Staffordshire Moorlands town has said it plans to keep the same opening hours during the latest coronavirus lockdown.
Leek Post Office, on High Street, Leek, has split staff into two bubbles.
Both the post office and the retail side of the business are open from 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am until 4pm on Saturday.
Leek Post Office said: “The plan is for our hours to stay the same. We are now split into two separate bubbles, meaning that if one bubble contracts the virus, following a deep clean the Post Office can remain open rather than having to close.
“What this does mean is that we will have less staff each day, particularly over lunch time.
“Going into our busiest period of the year this is less than ideal, but if we didn’t do this and stayed as we are, we feel the Community would be even more significantly impacted. We will be continuously reviewing this in line with government guidance.”
