Pub To Remain Shut After Police Warn Landlords Of Breaching Covid Regulations

A pub which threatened to open on Friday in spite of lockdown will stay closed.

Nick and Lucy Clowes, who run The Reform Inn at Thorncliffe, near Leek, posted a video on social media to say the venue would open for business at midday on Friday.

But following a visit from Staffordshire Police licensing officers, a sign has been put up in the window informing customers the pub will not open.

The sign reads: “We have decided to remain closed whilst we review the current situation”.
