It is anticipated that there will be bigger demand than ever this year for toy parcels in the community.

Now Leek Salvation Army, based in Salisbury Street in Leek, Staffordshire, is to open on Friday morning’s between 9am and 11.30am, for anyone to drop off a new, unwrapped present for a child this Christmas.

Shuker Farm Shop, based between Cellarhead and Weston Coyney is also taking donations for the Salvation Army toy appeal.

There is also a collecting box in the shop for anyone who can’t provide a toy, but would like to make a monetary gift instead.

The closing date for gifts is Friday, December 4
