Police Warning After Boozing Teens Flout Covid Rules

Police have issued a warning to parents after groups of teens have been spotted flouting Covid-19 restrictions, drinking alcohol and starting fires in a North Staffordshire village.

Officers in the Moorlands have received numerous calls reporting anti-social behaviour in and around the wooded area off Hollow Lane in Cheddleton.

Reports have included groups of teenagers drinking booze, starting fires and causing criminal damage.

Police will be stepping up patrols in the area over the coming days and urged parents to know where their children are and what they are doing.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Officers are appealing to parents and guardians to ensure that they know where their children are, what they are up to and who they are with, especially in light of the current Covid-19 concerns and government restrictions.
